Students will begin our study of the first major battles of the American Revolution. Today, students examined the battles of Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill. Students were able to experience the battle of Bunker Hill from the Colonial perspective. Students were able to see how taking advantage of terrain and preparation can overcome the disadvantages of numbers, supplies, training and experience. Students will be able to describe the cause and effects of these battles, and their significance in the American Revolution. Students will then analyze the Declaration of Independence, its importance, and how that document change the dynamic and meaning of this struggle.
