6th Grade World History

Students have been working on their "Egyptian gods in action" assignment.  They are to construct a cartoon/comic book to illustrate and apply their mastery of the Egyptian religion.  Students have been show examples and have had class time to work on, and ask questions about the assignment.  Students are encouraged to be as creative as possible, and embrace their artistic side.  Students have examined the primary source document known as the Egyptian "Book of the Dead."

Egyptian Gods in Action
Assignment – Create a cartoon about the Egyptian Gods that have been covered in class.  Artistic talent is not necessary, but accurate information and other essential criteria is required.
___ Plot (0-5 points)  – The story of the cartoon.  Plot should include, but not limited to, at least three Egyptian gods.  Inclusion of other gods is acceptable.
___ Climax (0-5 points) – The central action, excitement, or danger in the plot.  This is what keeps the reader reading your cartoon.
___ Resolution (0-5 points) – Solution to the problem causing conflict in the climax.
___ Purpose (0-5 points) – Egyptian gods perform their specific roles accurately
___ Accuracy (0-5 points) – Accurate portrayals of the duties of Egyptian gods.
Cartoon must contain no fewer than 4 cells.  Remember, the purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your understanding of how Egyptians believed their gods interacted, performed jobs, and explained events or performed tasks that the Egyptians could not.
