6th Grade World History
Students will conclude our study of the Parthenon, then compare and contrast the construction and impressiveness of the Parthenon to the Egyptian Pyramids. We will then introduce students to Greek philosophy and it's first contributor Socrates. Students will become an expert on one aspect of Socrates' philosophy. All the documents for Socrates have been podcast. Students will use this expertise as their ticket into the classroom where Socrates will be present in class to expand on what they've read, add to their understanding of philosophy, challenge their perspective on reality, and answer questions and defend his conclusions. Students will create and formulate arguments in favor or not in favor of Socrates' philosophical conclusions.
