8th Grade American History

Students will analyze and interpret the reaction of the Colonists after the battles of Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill.  Students will compare the resumes of candidates for Commander of the Continental Army.  Students will evaluate the choice of George Washington, and justify their position on whether he was the best candidate.  Students will be able to fully explain three reasons why Washington was chosen with 99% accuracy.  Students will interpret the Olive Branch petition from the view of King George III, create a response and then evaluate his reaction.
