8th Grade American History

Students will analyze, interpret and examine the journey of Lewis and Clark and its importance to American history. We will evaluate the supplies, personnel choices, and interactions with Natives. Students will formulate an argument as to whether the Louisiana Purchase was justified, worthwhile, and if the journey of Lewis and Clark was successful.  Students will begin our analysis of the causes of the War of 1812.  Students will interpret how foreign and domestic policy changes lead to war, including pre-and-post Election of 1808 causes.  Students will be able to explain three linking causes for the War of 1812 with at least 95% accuracy.
