Students will role-play the Louisiana Purchase, with an emphasis on who
was not included in the sale. Students will complete a 12
question worksheet in class, utilizing their math skills to understand the
largest land purchase in history. Students will transfer their historical data into modern numbers to gain a fuller understanding of the size, cost, scope, value etc. in today's context. Students will
then formulate and defend an argument about whether the Louisiana Purchase was worth the cost.
